Andre Villas-Boas has claimed he would like to take his career to Japan next, rather than return to England after his frustrating spells at both Chelsea and Tottenham in an interview with RMC. The Marseille boss endured two tough spells at Chelsea and Tottenham.
Andre Villas Boas interview:
"I have already said that they're more likely to see me at the Dakar Rally (Villas-Boas took part in 2018) than back in the Premier League or anywhere else," Geographically, I'd like to do Japan. I want to discover Japanese culture and Japanese football."
When asked of his plans with Marseille, he added: "The most important thing, for me, is to understand what will happen in the structure. I have to understand more or less who will be alongside me. We need and want to have the power to make decisions."
"I'm doing well at Marseille, I don't want to look for other clubs or options. I want to play the Champions League with Marseille, but I want to know but how economically dependent we are. If we are unable to do a good job, I think it is not worth it."
"It's important that we, alongside the sporting director, have the opportunity to have a transfer window of quality transfers, under not the best conditions, but that will allow us to be competitive. We are not naive enough to forget the economic situation of the club."
