Three kinds of Marriages of honour: Make your choice.
This is my discovery after witnessing the blessing of marriage of a couple. Now, I understand what it meant to have:
1. A wedding with honor
2. A godly marriage with honor
3. A traditional wedding with honor.
In simple words,
when you see a wedding which attracts favour, that marriage has honour. Many people gather around the two persons and support them. When men gather to celebrate your union, that is a wedding with honor. Note: This honour is from men.
A Godly marriage (not a wedding), with honor, as the bible says "Is with bed undefiled" (Hebrew 13:4), what it means is, both spouses have kept themselves as virgins unto God, meeting Scriptural sexual purity. Also, both spouses have dedicated their union to God, Who called and joined them for faithful commitment to His purpose for the marriage and to themselves.
A traditional wedding with Honour, is also another honor among men. This comes with the two families blessing the spouses into one union to start a new generation. The acceptable moral processes (bride price) are followed and blessing (with peace) is given to the new couple; that is father and mother blessings.
From the above, every single male and female has a choice to make of whose honour they desire for their marriage. There is marriage with only the honour of men and marriage with both the honour of God and men. You need the wisdom to take the right decision and make the golden choice from today. Shalom!
