Antonio Conte has admitted that beating Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United was his point at Chelsea stating that his 4-0 win against Manchester United in his first official tenure at Chelsea gave him the much needed trust and ability to be in charge at Stamford Bridge.
Conte was loosing it all in his first campaign for the Blues after he lost two of his first six matches, one which include the gunners overpowering them to a 3-0 defeat. The defeats threw his team off the balance and eventually led him to change his tactics to a back three which ultimately changed the mark and proved fruitful. The new game plan enabled Chelsea score five in their next three games without conceding any goal part of which involved Manchester United.
Chelsea put up a dominating display as they shook Manchester United off their feet with a 4-0 win which really was the drive they needed to win the Premier League
"I live my job in an intense way!’ Conte told Sky Sports, after he was asked about his wild goal celebrations. ‘Sometimes I show my passion and I want to share my happiness with the fans. I had an amazing relationship with Chelsea fans. ‘That game was important for us because when you win 4-0 against a top team it’s a boost because we understood very well that we could fight to win the league. ‘This game gave us confidence and belief in ourselves and we created a fantastic relationship with our fans"
Antonio Conte spent two years at Chelsea which saw him win the Premier League title in his debut campaign and followed it up with the FA Cup after a 1-0 win against United in his final game as boss in 2018.
