The parable of the talent narrated by Jesus in the book of Mathew 25:14-30 reveals a lot of secrets that are vital for living an excellent and productive life. The parable of the talent is beyond just a story, its a mystery kept to teach believers how to live in respect to their God given assignment.
The first thing is God gave the three servants different number of talent though they were all equal servants. This shows that God's endowment on us is different and He alone has the sovereignty to decide how much He gives to each individual.
This knowledge should make you never envy the giftings or achievements of others because you know that God gives every different talents.
Secondly, notice that when the master came back, He rewarded both the servant with two talents and the servant with five talents alike.
See his statement to both of them
*Mathew 25:21,23. His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.*.
God rewards men according to their obedience in fulfilling and carrying out His assignment on their lives.
It is important that every understand this truth so we all can passionately pursue God's assignment for our lives regardless of how intangible and small it is knowing fully well that God doesn't reward the magnitude of the task given to us but rather our obedience and commitment to fulfilling what He ask us to do.
The next thing I want us to see is that God knows us beyond ourselves. He searches even to the innermost part of man. While sharing the talents to his servants, he gave them according to his knowledge of their ability.
He knew the man whom he gave one talent to would not yield any result.
God gives us room to act sometimes so we can be inexcusable and that He may reveal ourselves to us.
The master could have ignored giving him the one talent initially since he knew he wasn't going to utilise the talent.
Yet he went ahead to give him the talent so that the servant could see clearly the state of his heart.
Talent will never deliver or produce result without work.
The difference between the two servants who yielded result and the one who didnt was because the other two worked but the lady servant didn't want to work.
In a time like this, it is important for everyone to see that God has bestowed upon us one grace or ability or talent or more which if we pay attention to will take us to places of honor through which we can influence the men for Christ.
Don't be that lazy servant who will sit idly and complain all day long about how small your talents are. If you put that little talent to work, you will receive same reward as those whom you feel are having the best talents.
Stay focused on growing your talent and diligently work on it till your talent becomes the reason why the LORD WILL SAY WELLDONE THOU GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT, ENTER THOU INTO THE JOY OF THE LORD.
