I Myself am
happy for Fupre as a whole and also Lecture Free Day you know what I mean and
the main the main.
Fupre had the first ever convocation yesterday and a
lot of august people were in attendance such as the Emir of Zamfara, Minister of state (Dr Ibechachukwu),
deputy Governor of Delta state was also in attendance. And also fupre
exhibition took place Seriously I enjoyed
yesterday…..but here is our honorable onni josephs statement concerning the
convocation
I specially
congratulate the Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Petroleum Resources,
Effurun (Prof. Akii Ó. Ibhadode, FAS) and other staffs (Teaching and
Non-Teaching) of our distinct University of this great and magnificent feat
I also want to
cease this medium to also appreciate well-meaning Nigerians who had chosen to
Grace this wonderful occasion is support of building a distinct citadel of
learning wherein heroes would be released to transform the World. Worthy of
mention are: Alhaji Atiku Abubakar (Former Vice President, Federal Republic of
Nigeria), Chief Ayírí Emami, Chief James Ibori (Former Executive Governor,
Delta State), HRM Emmanuel Sideso (Ovie of Uvwie), HRM Ogiame Ikenwoli (Olu of
Warri) and a host of others dignitaries across the Federation
My charge goes
to the heroes who would mount on the wings of transformation in the next few
hours
You had gone
through the tutelage of this great institution. I must make you recollect that
many others started alongside with you and could not make it. You have really
made a great landmark
Permit me to
also note that it is not over as this is just the beginning of greater feat
because it is your impart in the World around you that preaches the credibility
of the Academic and Moral Tutelage of our distinguish University. We have had
amongst you great activists (Comr. Unu Frank, Comr. Friday Ekpo, Hon. Olusola
Ajibola etc), great politicians (Rt. Hon. Alexander Amos Adams, Comr. Egagifo
Obaro, Rt. Hon. Precious Trevor Emuwe, Fayomi Chris Juwon, King Kenneth etc),
Outstanding Innovators (Comr. Aboribo Gmira, Comr. Ehrudjakpo Genetic, Adebayo
Victor Korede etc), Awesome Revivalist (Pastor Ojo Patrick Duke, Pastor
Agbonika Emmanuel, Pastor Ayodele Ebenezer Mayowa etc), Extraordinary
Entrepreneurs (Sani Awal etc), Women of Societal Impart (Okoro Rachael, Joy
Ajakaiye etc), Academicians (Utomi Chekwube, Lotanna Nnorom, Osigbemhe Leo,
Sadiq Sulaiman, etc) and an endless list of potentials in these fields
I want to say
that all of you including those that memory failed me to mention are those who
had contributed immensely to the all-round development of our great Citadel of
Excellence in your unique ways and I want to charge you this day to go into the
World and overtake, I want to charge you to go into the world and make the best
of the opportunity available in numerous and immeasurable quantity
Ye were not just
successful but rather had been imparted with the genetic trait of excellence
and relevance
I want to make a
passionate appeal that you drive beyond being personalities of excellence to
personalities of societal reckon and relevance
Please permit me
to take a minute silence to also honour great heroes who couldn't not for
academic or moral default but because life ceased to exist(The Great Olumide J.
Ikotun, Gift, Babatunde, Christian). We miss you, FUPRE miss you and the vacuum
you left are yet to have a befitting replacement
Conclusively, I
celebrate every heroes that are released today
